Ruwanwelisaya Stupa in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka - 2017
Massive Ruwanwelisaya Stupa in Sri Lanka is a major buddhist monument dating back to 140 BC. It is over 300 feet tall, and when I was there it was surrounded by pilgrims, barefoot and dressed in white, all day and night. It is in the ancient city of Anuradhapura, which is now a Unesco heritage site.
